MIAMI — Giannis Antetokounmpo confirmed this week that Heat Culture is, in fact, real after discovering that joining the Miami Heat apparently involves basketball, military motivational speakers and unexpectedly doing push-ups during meetings.

Giannis said Miami recently brought in two Navy SEALs to speak to the team about their experiences, a presentation that somehow transitioned into players doing push-ups.

The former MVP described the experience enthusiastically, saying the environment has made him feel “alive again.”

Heat officials immediately added the quote to approximately 14 future recruiting presentations.

“Some teams have film sessions,” one staffer said. “We have film sessions where there is a non-zero chance you will suddenly be told to get on the floor and give us 30.”

Giannis reportedly arrived in Miami expecting the organization’s famous culture to involve conditioning, accountability and Erik Spoelstra occasionally looking disappointed in him.

He did not realize there might also be Navy SEALs.

Sources say teammates have advised Giannis never to ask what is on the daily schedule because nobody wants Spoelstra getting ideas.

The Heat remain thrilled with how quickly their new superstar has embraced the program, especially after Giannis repeatedly praised the organization’s intensity during training camp.

Miami officials said the next step is getting him fully comfortable with the team’s routines.

Giannis asked what those routines were.

Nobody answered.

A whistle blew.

Everyone started doing push-ups.
