SOURCES: After more than two decades of attempting to defeat Father Time, LeBron James has reportedly changed strategies and begun treating the ancient concept of human aging as just another personal rival.

The 41-year-old James entered the league in 2003 and has spent most of the years since ignoring several basic rules regarding knees, recovery and what professional athletes are normally supposed to look like in their 40s.

According to sources, James recently accepted that Father Time remains undefeated but immediately became interested upon hearing the word ‘undefeated.’

‘He took that personally,’ one source said.

James has reportedly begun studying film of aging itself, looking for tendencies he can exploit. Early scouting reports suggest Father Time lacks lateral quickness but compensates with excellent patience and an unusually strong fourth quarter.

The rivalry has already become increasingly competitive.

Father Time has responded with slower recovery, occasional soreness and the general concept of being 41. James has countered with expensive recovery equipment, obsessive conditioning and the deeply irritating habit of still being able to dunk.

NBA officials have declined to intervene, noting that Father Time has historically handled these situations without assistance.

People close to James believe he understands he cannot continue forever.

He simply appears interested in making forever prove it.

For now, Father Time remains undefeated.

LeBron has requested a rematch.
