MILWAUKEE — Following the trade that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to Miami for a package including Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware and Kasparas Jakučionis, Bucks officials have reportedly spent the offseason working through an important mathematical question.
Does four or five players equal one Giannis?
Early calculations remain inconclusive.
“We have significantly increased the total number of basketball players,” one fictional executive explained. “That part is objectively encouraging.”
Milwaukee’s strategy room now contains dozens of diagrams demonstrating how Herro’s shooting, Jaquez’s versatility, Ware’s size and the new young pieces can collectively replace a two-time MVP.
Most diagrams eventually end with somebody drawing a very large question mark.
The Bucks insist the post-Giannis era is an exciting opportunity to establish a completely new identity.
They would simply prefer everyone stop calling it the post-Giannis era.
