PHOENIX — An NBA player was spotted enjoying a normal afternoon away from basketball Thursday, prompting fans to demand an explanation for the apparent absence of visible offseason work.
Witnesses said the player ate lunch, walked around a shopping district, and spoke with friends without once dribbling a medicine ball or sprinting uphill.
“Where is the grind?” asked one concerned fan after reviewing three photographs taken over approximately 11 minutes of the player’s day.
Online investigators found no recent footage of 5 a.m. workouts, underwater resistance training, sand sprints, or jump shots made in an empty gym accompanied by motivational music.
The player’s trainer confirmed he had already worked out that morning but did not film it, a claim many fans described as impossible to verify and therefore suspicious.
Others noted that rest is part of professional training, though this explanation performed poorly compared with a comment reading “HE GOT COMFORTABLE.”
By evening, the player posted a 14-second clip of himself lifting weights, restoring confidence in the season.
