DALLAS — A previously average NBA player has reportedly discovered rebounding, defensive positioning, hustle, and consistent transition effort with free agency now approximately four months away.

“It’s amazing what the human body can unlock when the next contract is visible on the horizon,” said one scout.

The player, who spent much of the previous two seasons conserving energy in ways teammates described as “innovative,” has begun diving for loose balls and sprinting back after missed shots.

His rebounding rate has increased, closeouts have become noticeably more urgent, and he recently volunteered to guard an opposing scorer without being asked twice.

Coaches praised the development while privately wondering whether the same techniques were available last November.

The player denied any connection to his contract status and said he has simply reached a new level of maturity at the exact moment teams can begin evaluating his market value.

Sources expect the breakthrough to remain fully sustainable until roughly 48 hours after he signs.
