CLEVELAND — After once again assembling a roster capable of terrorizing the Eastern Conference from October through April, the Cavaliers have asked reporters, analysts and fans to agree not to discuss anything scheduled afterward.
Cleveland officials remain extremely excited about the regular season.
May, however, is considered an internal matter.
“We’re focused on Game 1,” one team representative said. “And then Games 2 through 82. After that, please respect our privacy.”
The Cavaliers’ talented roster has created championship expectations, which the organization says are unfair because they eventually involve playoff games.
Coaches have spent training camp emphasizing consistency, spacing and the importance of answering questions with the phrase “one game at a time.”
Donovan Mitchell reportedly attempted to discuss postseason goals before a staffer gently changed the subject to January road trips.
Cleveland also unveiled a new media policy forbidding the use of several phrases, including “second round,” “conference finals” and “prove it in the playoffs.”
The Cavaliers remain confident.
They are currently projected to be extremely dangerous until approximately the moment everyone starts paying attention.
