LAS VEGAS — A fan announced “I’ve seen enough” just 3 minutes and 42 seconds into a rookie’s first preseason appearance Tuesday, formally ending all remaining uncertainty about the player’s career.
The declaration followed a pull-up jumper, a transition assist, and one defensive possession in which the rookie stayed in front of a guard.
“You can just tell,” the fan explained, citing body language, pace, confidence, footwork, and an unspecified quality referred to only as “it.”
Within minutes, the rookie was compared with multiple All-Stars, while concerns raised before the draft were reclassified as evidence that scouts overthink everything.
The player later committed two turnovers and missed four shots, developments the fan dismissed as normal rookie mistakes that in no way affected the earlier final conclusion.
Other supporters joined in, posting future award projections and lineup graphics for seasons several years away.
The fan has not ruled out changing his mind after the next game.
