HOUSTON — Houston’s already physical young roster became noticeably more dangerous this offseason after the Rockets added former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart alongside Amen Thompson, Tari Eason and Kevin Durant.
The first scrimmage was stopped after coaches realized nobody had technically committed a foul because everyone had committed one simultaneously.
“It’s competitive,” one fictional staff member said while quietly checking whether the practice facility carried collision insurance.
Smart immediately began directing defenders, diving for loose balls and yelling instructions at teammates who were already yelling instructions at somebody else.
Amen Thompson reportedly described the environment as “fun.”
Kevin Durant watched from the sideline and asked whether they planned to use a basketball eventually.
Ime Udoka remains pleased with the intensity.
The Rockets have scheduled tomorrow’s practice for two hours.
