ORLANDO — After three consecutive first-round exits, the Orlando Magic have officially raised expectations for the upcoming season by announcing plans to participate in basketball beyond the opening round of the playoffs.

The organization marked the occasion by unveiling a previously unused section of the team calendar labeled “May.”

Players reportedly gathered around the document in silence.

“We’ve heard about these dates,” one veteran said. “Nice to finally see them.”

Orlando believes its young core is ready to take another step, which team officials clarified means winning enough playoff games that broadcasters stop describing every loss as “valuable experience.”

The Magic have also updated travel plans, arena availability and player vacation requests in case the postseason lasts longer than usual.

Several staffers admitted the logistical change has been significant.

For years, late April had traditionally been reserved for exit interviews and optimistic quotes about next season.

The Magic insist things are different now.

Paolo Banchero has reportedly been informed that second-round games use the same basketball, while Franz Wagner was reassured there are no additional rules.
