LOS ANGELES — Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg criticized Luka Dončić's constant complaining Wednesday night, delivering an extensive postgame complaint about how much he dislikes players who complain.
Lendeborg's NBA debut featured a heated confrontation with Dončić, a technical foul, and a spectacular half-court buzzer-beater that Luka banked in before pointing directly at the rookie.
The Lakers won 127–105. Lendeborg was not ready to discuss that.
"I lost all respect," Lendeborg told reporters, citing Dončić's flopping, foul-baiting, and constant appeals to referees.
He then continued complaining about the complaining.
According to fictional Warriors officials, Lendeborg submitted a detailed list of grievances, including excessive whining, unnecessary conversations with officials, and the deeply disrespectful act of scoring while being defended.
"We appreciate Yaxel's commitment to holding people accountable," one imaginary team representative explained. "We're just hoping he'll eventually hold the press conference about basketball."
Lendeborg insisted he'd successfully challenged Dončić defensively, noting that the Lakers superstar's most memorable basket against him was a banked shot from approximately another ZIP code.
Dončić finished with 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in just three quarters.
The rookie contributed 12 points, one technical foul, and enough postgame criticism to qualify for a recurring sports-talk television segment.
Dončić, meanwhile, proudly noted that he had avoided receiving a technical foul himself, suggesting that his personal development program was progressing considerably faster than Golden State's defense.
The teams meet again October 30, giving Lendeborg eight days to prepare his next statement.
**Luka left with 28 points and a 22-point win. Lendeborg left with 12 points, a technical foul, and a formal complaint about someone else's behavior.**
