SOMBOR, SERBIA — With NBA training camps approaching, sources close to Nikola Jokić confirmed Monday that the three-time MVP’s horses have arrived in the best shape of their lives.

“They’ve really put in the work this summer,” said one stable employee. “Conditioning, recovery, nutrition. One of them added 40 pounds of good weight without losing any speed.”

The report immediately concerned Denver Nuggets officials, who had originally hoped to receive similar updates about Jokić.

Asked about his own offseason training, the Nuggets center reportedly pointed toward one of the horses and said, “Look how fast he is.”

Witnesses said Jokić spent much of the summer developing the animals’ endurance while occasionally touching a basketball when it rolled into the stable.

One horse has reportedly improved its lateral movement significantly and is now considered capable of defending multiple positions.

NBA scouts attending a private workout were particularly impressed by a six-year-old stallion described as having “excellent pace, elite court vision, and tremendous upside in transition.”

Denver has denied rumors that it offered the horse a two-way contract.

Jokić eventually confirmed that he remains prepared for the upcoming NBA season.

“Yes, yes, basketball,” he said. “But did you see the horse?”

Sources say the Nuggets are confident Jokić will report to camp in excellent condition, primarily because chasing him down and physically forcing him onto the plane already counts as cardio.
