LOS ANGELES — The Clippers welcomed Brandon Ingram to the organization this offseason and reportedly wasted no time introducing him to one of the franchise’s longest-running traditions: the medical re-evaluation timeline.

Ingram’s arrival was expected to begin a new chapter for Los Angeles.

Instead, the team immediately opened several tabs containing the words “progressing,” “timeline” and “will be re-evaluated.”

“It really helps with continuity,” one Clippers source said. “Different player, same vocabulary.”

The organization has stressed that Ingram’s recovery should not be rushed, noting that Clippers fans have spent years developing advanced expertise in interpreting vague injury updates.

Supporters can now distinguish between “making progress,” “ramping up,” “participating in portions of practice” and the especially dangerous “no timetable.”

Team officials insist the situation has nothing to do with the franchise’s history.

Still, the Clippers reportedly retained the same medical whiteboard rather than buying a new one.

Ingram is expected to return when healthy.

Los Angeles declined to provide a date, a month, a season or any other information that could potentially be interpreted as a timetable.
