**DENVER** — In a stunning development that could reshape the NBA, executives from rival teams have reportedly concluded that acquiring Nikola Jokić would make their basketball teams considerably better.

The revelation follows a leaguewide monitoring effort focused on Denver's three-time MVP and the summer of 2027, when Jokić could sign a massive contract extension.

Investigators have identified several reasons other franchises might want him, including his scoring, passing, rebounding, basketball intelligence, and tendency to make the opposing team lose.

One entirely fictional front-office report described Jokić as “a player we would prefer to have instead of playing against,” a breakthrough that reportedly required weeks of scouting and multiple conference calls.

According to industry observers, many teams would even be willing to give him a starting position.

The situation remains complicated by the fact that Denver already employs Jokić, is quite fond of him, and has no known intention of sending him anywhere.

Jokić himself has said he plans to sign an extension with the Nuggets next summer, while an in-season trade is considered highly unlikely.

Nevertheless, sources familiar with the concept of wanting excellent players believe interest could intensify if Denver suddenly decides it no longer needs one.

League executives are expected to continue monitoring the three-time MVP throughout the season, occasionally checking whether he's still extremely good at basketball.

Early indications suggest he is.

At press time, the Nuggets were also reportedly interested in having Nikola Jokić on their team.
